This is the biggest reason you need to check your tires on a regular basis. To assist in sealing this kind of puncture, you’ll need to re-air the tire and drive it until it warms up; thus allowing the tire to regain its flexibility. You may need to do this three times.
- Did you drive the vehicle a minimum of five miles after you removed the object? If not, the tire could lose air pressure and the hole will not seal right.
- Did you use the Seal-It Gel as a repair option rather than a preventative measure? The Seal-It Gel product is not recommended for after the tire is compromised. However, if you choose to add it afterward, here are two things you need to know.

A – Object Still Embedded In Tire

The last thing you need to be doing is removing the object. If it’s still embedded, make sure you place in lots of Seal-It Gel in the tire. Drive it at least seven miles to make sure the product distributes itself evenly. Remove object and drive another three miles. You’ll need to re-air the tire so you don’t drive on a flat tire. You may need to do this three times before the hole is actually sealed.

B – Object No Longer Embedded In Tire

If the puncturing object has been thrown out or has been removed, you’ll need to install lots of Seal-It Gel in the tire. Make sure to drive it up to seven miles so that the product will distribute evenly. Re-air the tire and make sure to drive it until it warms up. This will help the tire to regain its flexibility; this may need to be done three times before the hole is sealed.

Possible Disturbances and Vibrations

Try to remember that not all vibrations you feel in your vehicle are due to tire balance. However, there are six reasons that a tire will vibrate.

- First, the tires may be out of round.
- Second, there are bald spots on the tires.
- Third, the shock absorbers, ball joints, struts and kingpins are worn out.
- Fourth, the tire belts have shifted.
- Fifth, the tire and/or wheel assembly is mounted incorrectly.
- Sixth, unnecessary tire assembly run out.

If you notice the wheels are vibrating side to side, you’ll need to look for five things:

- Bent axles
- Bent wheels
- Damaged and/or loose wheel bearings
- Incorrect wheel installation

When you notice spills, use an absorbent material to soak them up. Make sure you dispose of the product based on the regulations of your local county, state or federal government. Make sure to maintain good workshop practices. Whenever you’re working with pressured air sources, you should wear safety glasses. Always keep Seal-It Gel away from children’s reach, as the product contains the ingredient ethylene glycol. If it should be ingested, call a doctor right away.
